Soybean inoculant program (Glycine max)

The world’s most-grown legume and a cornerstone protein and oil crop, with a high nitrogen demand that biological fixation can largely meet.

The challenge

Soybean needs more nitrogen than almost any grain legume; weak or poorly-matched nodulation forces costly fertilizer and caps both yield and seed quality.

50%+ — of a soybean’s nitrogen can come from fixation — with the right, host-specific Bradyrhizobium. Without it, you buy the difference.

The world’s protein crop, and a heavy feeder

Soybean is the most-grown legume on earth and a cornerstone of the world’s protein and vegetable oil — but it demands more nitrogen than almost any grain legume, and that demand has to be met somehow.

Its rhizobia are picky — and often absent

Soybean nodulates only with specific Bradyrhizobium japonicum (elite USDA 110-type strains), not the general soil rhizobia. On ground with no soybean history the right partner simply isn’t there, so the crop can’t fix and leans on fertilizer.

Weak nodulation costs twice

Thin or poorly-matched nodulation forces expensive nitrogen and still caps yield and seed quality — the protein and oil the crop is grown for. You pay more and harvest less.

The program

  • Nodu™ SY — establishes a vigorous Bradyrhizobium symbiosis
  • Vigor™ — builds root and soil health
  • Orvan™ — couples nitrogen-fixation potentiation with rhizosphere biocontrol

Field-proven

Across 253 sites in 18 provinces (Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Anhui; 2019–2024): +16.1% average yield, up to 3.7× more nodules, nitrogenase up to 4.8×, and elevated isoflavone content. A strongly-nodulated soybean crop can fix 100–200+ kg N/ha, supplying over half its nitrogen.

Rhizobial fit

Soybean is highly host-specific: it requires Bradyrhizobium japonicum / diazoefficiens (USDA 110-type elite strains), not the general tropical group. Nodu™ SY pairs your region with the best-matched soybean strain (essential in fields with no soybean history), and Orvan™ amplifies the established symbiosis.

By product

  • Orvan™ (Orvan™ Soybean): +16.1% yield, up to 3.7× more nodules; 253 sites / 18 provinces. Nitrogen-fixation potentiation.
  • Nodu™ (Nodu™ SY, B. japonicum / diazoefficiens): +10.8% · 60 sites; Fixes 100–200+ kg N/ha, over half its nitrogen.
  • Vigor™ (PGPR): +7.1% · 40 sites.

How to use

At sowing: Nodu™ SY 4–6 g/kg seed; Orvan™ Flow (in-furrow) or Seed treatment; co-applies with starter NPK.
