Does Orvan™ replace my rhizobium inoculant?
No — Orvan™ is complementary and amplifies the rhizobia already in your soil or inoculant.
Is it GMO?
No. All strains are naturally isolated; no genetic modification.
Does Orvan™ contain Aspergillus?
No. Orvan™ contains no fungi at all — its three strains are bacteria: Bacillus velezensis, Brevibacillus laterosporus and Paenibacillus mucilaginosus. The published science it is built on is named Aspergillus–Rhizobia Coupling (ARC) after the two ends of a shift measured in the root zone: in multi-season OCRI-CAAS field trials, treated peanut showed markedly lower soil Aspergillus flavus alongside a stronger rhizobial symbiosis. Whether the two are causally linked, and by what mechanism, is still being worked out. The name describes what is measured in the soil, not what is in the bag — Orvan™ carries neither organism.
Which crops?
Eight legumes — peanut, soybean, common bean, cowpea, pigeon pea, mung bean, black gram, alfalfa — with multi-site field results on all eight (peanut and soybean have the largest datasets).
Will it work in my region?
Rhizobia are region-specific. Nodu™ is matched to local populations and confirmed before deployment; Orvan™ amplifies your soil’s native rhizobia, so it fits local conditions.
How is it applied?
At sowing — granule, in-furrow liquid, or seed treatment — matched to your planter.
Can I tank-mix it?
Yes, within a tested list. On seed, Orvan™ co-applies with the fungicide classes used in seed treatment (oomycete fungicides, benzimidazoles, triazoles, phenylpyrroles, strobilurins) and with thiamethoxam, clothianidin, imidacloprid and chlorantraniliprole, as well as with rhizobial inoculants and NPK. It is not compatible with anything registered against bacterial disease: copper compounds, thiazoles, quinolines and agricultural antibiotics. Chlorinated water above 2 ppm and pH above 9 should also be avoided. The order matters: a fungicide seed treatment goes on first and is left to dry, then Orvan™, then any rhizobial inoculant. Is it safe? Any residue?
Non-GMO, BSL-1, no synthetic pesticide; no residue concerns under tested conditions.
What’s the shelf life?
6 to 18 months depending on formulation, stored cool and dry — around 6–8 months for the rhizobial and PGPR liquids, 18 for the Orvan™ granule, longer for the freeze-dried form. The date on the pack is the one that counts.
Is it organic-approved?
Formulations are made without GMOs, synthetic pesticides, or animal-derived carriers; organic acceptability is jurisdiction-specific (NOP / EU 2018/848 review).

What is a peanut inoculant, and why does peanut need one?
A peanut inoculant is a formulated product that delivers live Bradyrhizobium to the seed or furrow, so peanut (groundnut) roots nodulate and fix their own nitrogen. Nodu™ supplies region-matched rhizobia for that job, and our Orvan™ consortium amplifies those rhizobia to build stronger nodulation and nitrogen fixation — so the crop fixes more of its own nitrogen and you buy less.
