Research and development

Research and innovation for agriculture

Founded in Beijing in 2021, Huasheng connects agricultural research with product development. Our research and technical work cover active components, formulation, stability and application performance across conventional and biological crop protection, crop nutrition and microbial products.

FOUNDING PURPOSE

From scientific discovery to agricultural application

Our founders’ backgrounds span the University of California, Riverside, Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and each brings a different perspective to how we understand biological processes, crop needs and product development.

Our research begins with specific questions: how does an active component work, under which conditions, and how can a formulation maintain its activity? We connect those questions with crop needs, the application method and available evidence. Scientific exchange, sample studies and comparative trials guide formulation choices and the work needed before production or market evaluation.

SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION

Scientific exchange and collaborative research

We collaborate and exchange ideas with research teams at universities and institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the University of Florida and Cornell University. Our work covers beneficial agricultural microorganisms, crop nutrition, plant–microbe interactions and product performance evaluation.

RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

From active components to crop performance

With research and manufacturing partners, we study formulation performance, storage stability and application methods for different product types. Microbial formulations are an important focus, including strain identity, viable counts, seed-treatment compatibility and the development of liquid, powder and granular formats.

We assess a technology against a specific crop-protection, nutrition or management need. Alongside the active substance or strain, existing results and technology rights, we consider local alternatives, application conditions, use costs and production feasibility to define the product and its development priorities.

FIELD OBSERVATION & ASSESSMENT

Field observations that guide product development

Product performance depends on the crop, growing conditions and application method. With technical and local partners, we define relevant observations: pest or disease response, crop safety, nutrient status, growth, yield or quality, according to the project. Field visits, application trials and partner feedback help assess suitable uses and identify improvements.

Trial results must be read in context, including the control treatment, formulation, dose and application timing. Reviewing these conditions alongside the technical data helps us improve formulations and application methods and plan further studies.

FROM RESEARCH TO APPLICATION

Turning research into agricultural products

We work with technology owners and industry partners on formulation, production, registration and market introduction. Together we define the intended product, technology rights, supporting data and development stage, then agree samples, quality specifications, local trials and the route to supply. The plan gives each stage a purpose and a basis for deciding what comes next.

Throughout 2023–2026, Huasheng has continued its scientific collaboration and technology transfer. Working with research teams and industry partners, we advance formulation studies, application trials and production preparation so that promising findings can move towards practical use.
