Nodu™

Nodu — Crop-matched rhizobial inoculant

Crop-matched rhizobial inoculant

Elite Bradyrhizobium / Rhizobium inoculants that establish a strong, early, and persistent nitrogen-fixing symbiosis in legumes, so the crop fixes more of its own nitrogen and you buy less.

Principal components
Crop-matched rhizobia
Crops
Peanut · Soybean · Common bean · Cowpea · Pigeon pea · Mung bean · Black gram · Alfalfa

Biological nitrogen fixation

Biological action

Live rhizobia colonize the root, form nodules, and reduce atmospheric nitrogen (N₂) to a plant-available form throughout the season, lifting early vigor, biomass, and yield. Because rhizobia are host-specific, each legume needs its own compatible strain, selected for local soil conditions and confirmed against local populations before deployment.

Agricultural purpose

The nitrogen your legumes can make for themselves.

Fit within the programme

Nodu™ delivers the nitrogen-fixing rhizobia, the symbiotic partner the crop needs. It is built to work with Orvan™, a rhizosphere-coordination consortium applied alongside or on top of the rhizobial inoculant that strengthens the nodulation environment, and with Vigor™ for roots and phosphorus.

Composition & material characteristics

Biological components

Crop-specific and region-matched: soybean-specific Bradyrhizobium japonicum / diazoefficiens (USDA 110-type); fast-growing Rhizobium tropici (CIAT 899-type) for common bean; cowpea-miscellany Bradyrhizobium (incl. BR 3267-type) for peanut, cowpea, mung bean, black gram and pigeon pea; and Sinorhizobium (Ensifer) meliloti for alfalfa. One SKU per crop.

Product role

Nodu™ delivers the nitrogen-fixing rhizobia, the symbiotic partner the crop needs. It is built to work with Orvan™, a rhizosphere-coordination consortium applied alongside or on top of the rhizobial inoculant that strengthens the nodulation environment, and with Vigor™ for roots and phosphorus.

Research & field performance

Field research & results

  • Across 240+ legume trial sites: vigorous nodulation established within ~2–3 weeks, with 3–6× more nodules per plant.
  • Biological nitrogen fixed, by crop: alfalfa 150–250+ /yr · soybean 100–200+ kg N/ha · pigeon pea up to ~140 · cowpea 75–115 · common bean up to 60 · mung bean / black gram up to 55; a well-nodulated peanut crop leaves ~96 kg N/ha for the next cereal.
  • A well-nodulated legume draws 50–75% of its nitrogen from fixation, trimming starter-N by ~30–50%, for a +9.4% average standalone yield.

Crop applications

Crop-specific selection

Select the product edition and supporting information for the intended crop. Crop profiles connect the biological components with field observations and the relevant technical documents.

Application context

Inoculate seed in shade just before sowing and sow within 24–72 h, or apply the liquid in-furrow. Apply after any fungicide seed treatment; keep away from chlorinated water (> 2 ppm) and strong acids/alkali. Co-applies with Vigor™ and Orvan™.

Select the product and application programme for the crop, growing conditions and applicable market label.

Quality & product characteristics

Product quality

Identity-verified (16S / WGS), purity-tested, batch CFU certification, per-formulation SDS; naturally isolated, non-GMO.

Technical specification

CFU guaranteed to expiry; shelf life typically 6–8 months at 5–25 °C (longer for the freeze-dried form). Non-GMO, naturally isolated.

Storage & product life

6–8 months (longer freeze-dried)

Nodu™ across the eight legumes

Rhizobia are host-specific, so Nodu™ ships as one crop-matched strain per legume — soybean-specific Bradyrhizobium, fast-growing Rhizobium for bean (including R. tropici, CIAT 899-type), Sinorhizobium meliloti for alfalfa, and the cowpea-miscellany Bradyrhizobium group for the tropical legumes. Each row opens the product page for that crop.
