Seaweed, amino acids and humic substances: three different conversations
Similar category labels can conceal different ingredients, nutrient contributions and application roles.
Read the source and composition
Seaweed-derived products depend on the algal source and how the final extract is characterised. Amino-acid products depend on source and molecular profile. Humic products depend on their fractions and analytical basis. The ingredient family is useful, but it is not the finished specification.
Identify the nutrient contribution
Products in these groups may also contribute nutrients. That contribution belongs in the crop’s nutrient budget, separate from any biological-stimulation role. A product comparison should show both dimensions.
Match the role to the growing system
Root-zone management, establishment and environmental response are different objectives. A fruit grower needs to know which objective a product serves, how it relates to the existing programme and what information supports that role.
Avoid comparing unlike measurements
A soluble-solids value, total amino-acid percentage and humic-acid declaration are not measures of the same thing. Even within one category, analytical methods and expression basis may differ. Review the document, not just the number on a sales slide.
A clearer portfolio helps the decision
Selva, Amino and Humia are presented as distinct product roles within the Huasheng portfolio. Their technical discussions begin with the crop need and the product’s own documentation rather than a generic promise shared across the category.
