Mode of action & use

Mode of action

Keeps sodium channels in nerve membranes open, causing rapid knock-down.

Contact and stomach action with long residual activity; not systemic.

Typical targets and crops

Caterpillars, beetles, aphids, some mites and soil insects in cotton, corn, vegetables and fruit; also used against termites.

Resistance management · IRAC 3A

Pyrethroids modulate sodium channels; knock-down (kdr) resistance is widespread in many pests. Use them in rotation with other IRAC groups and not as the only control in high-pressure situations.

This is general information on the active ingredient. Registered crops, targets, rates and pre-harvest intervals follow the label approved in each market.
